Day
1 - Cochin
Arrive
at Cochin where our representative will meet you
at the Airport to extend a warm welcome to Kerala
– sometimes referred to as the Florida of
India. Direct Transfer to the Hotel & relax
.
Later
board a boat to see the backwaters and canals
of Cochin. See the Dutch connection in Cochin
– the Dutch Palace. Make a brief stopover
at India’s only Jewish synagogue at Mattancherry.See
the historic St. Francis Church. Get photographed
in front of it. & then proceed to have wonderful
picture-postcard views of Chinese fishing nets
at Fort Cochin.
In
the evening, visit a superb private establishment
in downtown Cochin to enjoy Kathakali –
the exotic and universally popular performing
art of Kerala. ‘Mudra & Make-up’
demonstration follows the performance. Ask the
knowledgeable host questions about this magnificent
art. The two hours pass too soon.
Back
to your hotel. Enjoy a Kerala dinner with seafood
specialities. Overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2 – Cochin Country Craft Cruise
After
breakfast, proceed on a guided boat tour in and
around Cochin. This is possible because our sights
are all accessible by water. See the historic
Dutch Palace – a tribute to the relationship
between the two cultures during the previous centuries.Visit
the only Jewish Synagogue in India at Mattancherry;
only one direct descendant of the family that
set up this shrine is now alive.
Reach
back mainland Cochin by noon. Enjoy your lunch.
Next
get ready for a too-good-to-believe experience
– a country craft canal cruise out of suburban
Cochin to the interiors. In course of your expedition,
peep at the rural Kerala life from close quarters.
Enjoy the peace.Return to your hotel by evening.
You are free to explore the streets downtown on
your own. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your
hotel.
Day 3 - Munnar
After
breakfast, we leave Cochin early in the morning
for a long but scenic drive to Munnar –
Kerala’s tea garden hill station.
En
route we take a detour to Kalady – the spiritually
important town, which is the birthplace of early
Indian philosopher and saint ‘Sree Sankaracharya’.
Continue your journey to Munnar. As evening unfolds,
crisp mountain air and beautifully kept valleys
of tea gardens give you the first signs of what
is in store for you.
Check
into your resort. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay
at your resort.
Day
4 – Munnar (the Cool Heaven)
After breakfast, we proceed on a daylong sightseeing
tour of Munnar.
Visit
the Eravikulam National Park – home to the
endangered mountain goat species, the Nilgiri
Tahr. Take snaps of the frolicsome and rather
friendly goats. Admire the valley in front of
you. Next to Top-station, the highest point in
Munnar and the place where you find an abundance
of Nilakurinji plants, which flowers only once
in twelve years.
Visit
Marayoor, the location of a fragrant and picturesque
sandalwood forest. You can buy sandalwood artefacts
in the shops of Munnar town to take home as sweet-smelling
momentos.

Day 5 - Periyar
After
breakfast, drive to Periyar, hometown of the Periyar
Wildlife Sanctuary.
On
your way out of Munnar, travel through spectacularly
beautiful scenic splendours. The Munnar-Thekkady
route is considered among the best tourist circuits
in India. On arrival at Thekkady, check into the
Periyar Jungle Resort. There is time for relaxation.
Later we take you to enjoy a rather unusual way
of exploring a wild reserve – aboard a boat.
The
picturesque Periyar Lake is a beautiful setting.
Your boat ride affords views of elephant herds
and bison. If you are lucky enough you can spot
more exotic animals. Don’t forget to take

Day
6 - Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
After
a leisurely breakfst, embark on some trekking
trails that takes you closer to the majestic Nature
in this area – an exciting experience.
Later,
visit a cardamom-curing centre to get a feel of
spice industry based here.
At last if time permits have an Elephant Safari
too! Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your resort.
Day
7 - Kumarakom
After
breakfast, proceed to Kumarakom – the spectacular
and inviting backwater destination.
Arrive
at Kumarakom by noon. Check into the Kumarakom
Backwater Resort. The rest of the day is your
canvas to draw the amazing backwater experiences
possible here.
Later,
view the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary located in an
island in the backwaters. Watch exotic birds,
the migratory Siberian Stork among them, lead
their normal lives unaware of you or your binoculars.

8 - Real Village life & Enjoy Night in the
backwaters
After breakfast, get ready for a memorable day

take you to Alleppey

Continue
your journey to Alleppey. At night, the boat drops

Day
9 - Alleppey
Awake
early to experience a magical backwater morning.
Shortly you’ll resume your journey to Kollam.The
rest of the day is yours to chart an unforgettable
beach holiday. Feel secure because Kovalam, because
of its natural location, is considered one of
the safest beaches in the world.

Day
10 - A Full Day Excurion to Kanyakumari
After
breakfast, drive to Kanyakumari – the confluence
of three oceans and the land’s end of India.
Arrive
at Kanyakumari by afternoon. Later, we take a
ferry for the short crossing to the giant rock
formation on which stands the Vivekananda Memorial.
It is 200 metres above the shoreline. See the
spot where Vivekananda – the great Indian
philosopher – sat in deep meditation in
the late nineteenth century.
In
the evening, watch the magnificent & an ethereally
beautiful sunset.Back to Kovalam by night fall.

Day 11 - Trivandrum
After
breakfast, drive to Trivandrum. It is time to
say goodbye to a once-in-a-lifetime holiday.
