Farming |
The
Thar Desert covers most of Rajasthan
hence, the major part of the state are
extremely dry. Yet on the total cultivable
area (27,465 thousand hectares), the
tenacious Rajasthani farmer is able
to cultivate rice, barley, gram, wheat,
oilseeds, pulses, cotton and tobacco.
Other crops are red chillies, mustard,
cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and asafoetida. |
